Alois Lageder aims to make high-quality Alto Adige wines in harmony with nature and society. The family business promotes biodiversity, circular agriculture and vital soils, and regards wine as a transparent expression of grape and origin. Through experimentation, knowledge sharing and long-term co-operation with winegrowing partners, the estate seeks to make regional viticulture more sustainable and resilient.

The house dates from 1823 and is now run by the sixth generation from Magre. Its approximately 55 hectares of estate vineyards are farmed organically and biodynamically, with Demeter certification. Alois Lageder also works with around sixty partner growers; their plots are managed organically or biodynamically, but not all have been independently shown to be certified.
