Alta Alella aims to make pure, vibrant wines and sparkling wines that recognisably convey the Mediterranean landscape around Alella. The family estate works organically and limits intervention in both vineyard and cellar, allowing the grape, soil and vintage to take centre stage. Innovation goes hand in hand with respect for nature, provenance and the long-term future of the wine-growing landscape.

The estate lies between the Mediterranean Sea and the Serralada de Marina nature reserve, a short distance from Barcelona. The vineyards are planted mainly on sauló, a poor, well-draining granite soil that promotes freshness and tension. Alta Alella produces both still wines and cava, and experiments with indigenous varieties, amphorae and wines without added sulphites.
