Vineyard of Ca’ Boffenisio

Ca' Boffenisio aims to make organic wines that reflect the character of the Conca di Boffenisio and the hills of Oltrepo Pavese. The producer believes that good wine begins in the vineyard and therefore chooses natural nourishment and protection for the vines. Quality, limited production and continuous improvement define the direction of the family estate.

Maria Adele Galanti founded Ca' Boffenisio in 1997 near Borgo Priolo. The estate covers approximately 23 hectares, around fifteen of which are vineyards surrounded by woodland. Local and international varieties are grown, including Croatina, Barbera, Pinot Nero, Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc. The grapes are organically certified; BIOS is listed as the inspection body.

Bonarda from Ca’ Boffenisio is a dry red wine with 13% alcohol. No specific vintage is recorded for this listing. The wine is made from Croatina. The selected grapes and style suggest red and dark fruit, spicy nuances and a balanced dry structure. This gives it a recognisable, accessible style that is suitable for pasta, roasted vegetables, meat dishes and mature cheeses. Do not serve too warm; if the wine is powerful or mature, let it breathe briefly for a more open flavour profile.
