Vineyard of Carussin

Carussin seeks to inhabit and understand the landscape rather than use it solely for production. The family works organically and biodynamically, without harmful chemicals, and views farming as co-operation between people, soil, plants and animals. Winegrowing, hospitality and education support the same goal: creating a vibrant business that connects nature, community and craft.

The farm in San Marzano Oliveto dates from 1927 and is run by Bruna Ferro, Luigi Garberoglio and their sons. Alongside Barbera and other Piedmontese wines, the family makes its own craft beer from home-grown barley. An agribar and an educational donkey farm broaden the business. The vineyards are certified organic by Suolo e Salute, while biodynamic methods are applied in practice.

Asinoi from Carussin is a dry red wine with 12% alcohol. This listing is for the 2024 vintage. The wine is made from Barbera. Based on the grapes and wine style, expect a profile of juicy cherries, plums, lively acidity and a supple, approachable structure. This makes it a versatile wine for pasta, roasted vegetables, meat dishes and mature cheeses. Serve at a temperature appropriate to the wine style, and allow more complex wines some air.
