Vineyard of Dominio Romano (Parés Baltà)

Dominio Romano aims to let Tempranillo from Ribera del Duero speak in a pure and balanced way. The project embraces organic farming, careful soil management and controlled vinification that preserves fruit, freshness and structure. As a sister project of Parés Baltà, it shares a long-term vision in which respect for nature and terroir takes precedence over technical uniformity or excessive oak influence.

The vineyards are near Rábano, in the province of Valladolid, on Ribera del Duero's high plateau. Large differences between day and night temperatures, together with limestone- and clay-rich soils, encourage the slow ripening of Tempranillo. Dominio Romano reports practising organic farming since 2011. Separate, current Demeter certification for this estate has not been demonstrated, despite the family's biodynamic experience elsewhere in the group.
