Vineyard of Marabino

Marabino works from the conviction that wine arises from a healthy and diverse agricultural landscape. The estate applies organic cultivation and biodynamic principles to strengthen soil life, balance and the distinctive character of the grapes around Noto. The approach in the cellar remains restrained, so that warmth, limestone soils and Mediterranean influences remain clearly recognisable in the wine.

The business is located in Contrada Buonivini near Noto and manages around thirty hectares divided among approximately twenty plots. Nero d'Avola and Moscato Bianco are among the important local varieties. Marabino has worked biodynamically since 2008, but current Demeter certification has not been convincingly demonstrated. Its organic status has therefore been recorded carefully as cultivation- or product-specific.

Archimede from Marabino is a dry red wine with 13,5% alcohol. This listing is for the 2020 vintage. The wine is made from Nero d'Avola. Based on the grapes and wine style, expect a profile of rijpe kersen, pruimen, donkere bessen, mediterrane kruiden en soepele tannines. This makes it a versatile wine for pasta, roasted vegetables, meat dishes and mature cheeses. Serve at a temperature appropriate to the wine style, and allow more complex wines some air.
