Neleman aims to show that attractive, modern wine can go hand in hand with organic farming, biodiversity and social enterprise. Founder Derrick Neleman built a Spanish-Dutch project around transparent production and wines with broad appeal that retain their Mediterranean origins. Its objective is to create a positive impact, from healthy vineyards and fair collaboration to more responsible packaging and distribution.
The winery is in Casas del Rey near Venta del Moro, within the Hoces del Cabriel UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Some vineyards lie at around nine hundred metres above sea level and include local grapes such as Bobal, Verdil and Macabeo. According to the producer, all Neleman products are organically inspected by CAECV; many wines are also certified vegan. The company has thousands of co-owners through crowdfunding.
