Vineyard of Rivetto

Rivetto regards biodiversity as a prerequisite for characterful Barolo. The family business does not want to manage vineyards as monocultures, but as an agricultural landscape in which trees, grain, herbs and animals all play a role. Organic and biodynamic methods are intended to make the soil resilient and produce wines that reflect the individual hills of Serralunga d'Alba precisely and vividly.

Enrico Rivetto runs the historic family estate in Serralunga d'Alba. Nebbiolo is central, alongside other Piedmontese grapes and mixed farming activities. The business is certified organic. Demeter is explicitly confirmed for Barolo Briccolina and the associated cru; without further evidence, that product-specific confirmation is not extended to every wine or the entire range.

Barbaresco DOCG Nervo from Rivetto is a dry red wine with 14,5% alcohol. This listing is for the 2021 vintage. The wine is made from Nebbiolo. The selected grapes and style suggest cherry, roses, fine spices, lively acidity and pronounced yet refined tannins. This gives it a recognisable, accessible style that is suitable for pasta, roasted vegetables, meat dishes and mature cheeses. Do not serve too warm; if the wine is powerful or mature, let it breathe briefly for a more open flavour profile.
