Vineyard of Vins El Cep

Vins El Cep was built on the partnership of four wine-growing families who brought together their historic farmsteads and expertise. The estate aims to make organic wines and cavas with respect for natural cycles, the landscape and local identity. Biodynamic practices and careful manual work are intended to produce healthy grapes, so that the cellar primarily guides the process and Penedès remains clearly visible in the glass.

The roots of the families involved date back to 1448; their joint wine project was established in 1980. The vineyards surround Can Llopart de les Alzines near Sant Sadurní d'Anoia. The house was an early advocate of biodynamic cava and makes long-aged sparkling wines. A separate, current Demeter registration has not been publicly confirmed.

Brisats by Vins El Cep is a dry orange wine from the 2023 vintage. The wine is made from Xarel·lo, Xarel·lo Vermell. The alcohol content is 12.5%. Skin contact typically brings notes of citrus peel, stone fruit, dried flowers and herbs, together with greater texture and light tannin than a classic white wine. Vins El Cep is run by four winegrowing families in Penedès and specialises in organic and biodynamic still and sparkling wines. Serve chilled with spiced vegetable dishes, poultry, mature cheeses, curry or Middle Eastern cuisine.
