Château de Fumal is reviving a centuries-old wine-growing terroir as an ambitious family project. The estate aims to produce high-quality Belgian sparkling wines, deliberately giving nature, the vineyard and traditional winemaking the time needed to develop finesse, balance and a distinctive regional identity.

Between 2016 and 2017, 28,400 Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier vines were planted. The estate produces exclusively Belgian sparkling wines using the traditional method. Fumal has a long wine-growing history: a drawing from 1523 already depicts vines below the château. The present vineyard lies on a gently sloping, south-facing site with clay and calcareous schist soils.
