Vineyard of Davenport Vineyards

Davenport Vineyards is one of the pioneers of organic English wine. Through healthy soils, low yields and restrained vinification, the family estate aims to produce pure wines that clearly express its different vineyards in Kent and East Sussex.

Davenport has farmed organically since 2000 and is certified organic by the Soil Association. All its wines are suitable for vegans. The range includes still, pét-nat and traditional-method sparkling wines made from nine grape varieties. Production takes place at Hazel Street Farm in Horsmonden, which also hosts a weekly wine shop and public events around harvest time.

Blanc de Blancs from 2017 from Davenport Vineyards is a dry sparkling wine. In aroma and taste, the emphasis is on lemon, green apple, ripe pear and a soft mineral impression. The fine effervescence, fresh acidity and well-kept structure provide an energetic, balanced aftertaste. The wine is made from Chardonnay; the alcohol content is 12%. Serve well chilled as an aperitif or with seafood, light starters, soft cheeses and festive appetizers.
