Vineyard of Domein Pietershof

Domein Pietershof manages a vineyard in the Voer region and is working towards organic and potentially biodynamic viticulture. Peter van den Berg and Ellen Oosterhof focus on spontaneous fermentation, natural clarification and minimal intervention. The limestone-rich soil, old vines and south-facing slope are intended to yield concentrated, distinctive wines with a clear cross-border identity.

The Belgian vineyard covers approximately 2.4 hectares with Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Riesling, Gewürztraminer and Muscat Ottonel. The vineyard is officially converting to organic production. Since 2021, however, the grapes have been pressed, matured and bottled in Margraten in the Netherlands. The row therefore remains struck through in red under this workbook’s Belgian regional selection criteria.

Blanc de Noirs from Domein Pietershof is a dry white wine from Belgium, offered in 75cl. The grapes used are Pinot Noir. This still white Blanc de Noirs is made from Pinot Noir and shows how a blue grape can produce a fresh, light white wine. The dry white style combines fresh fruit expression with lively acidity and a balanced finish. Serve chilled as an aperitif or with fish, seafood, salads, white meats and soft cheeses.
