Vineyard of Maison Viticole Roeder ('Biowenzer')

Maison Viticole Roeder, known as Biowenzer, uses viticulture as a tool for nature conservation. Luc Roeder manages the Hoelt vineyard near Rosport organically and largely by hand. Low yields, late harvesting and rigorous selection are intended both to protect the cultural and historic landscape and to produce concentrated wines with a strong sense of place.

Hoelt comprises approximately 84 ares of steep terraces on Muschelkalk limestone, surrounded by old dry-stone walls in a Natura 2000 area. The average gradient is approximately 29%. Old vines and a south-easterly aspect provide freshness and minerality. The limited range includes several white varieties, Pinot Noir and the Crémant Cuvée Kimmfrächen.

Chardonnay by Maison Viticole Roeder ('Biowenzer') is a dry white wine from Luxembourg, made from Chardonnay. The profile combines apple, citrus and ripe pear with a fuller texture; any oak maturation may add gentle toast and nut notes. Roeder organically cultivates old terraced vineyards with dry-stone walls, emphasising rarity and terroir. As a non-vintage wine, it focuses on a recognisable house style. The wine contains 13.0% alcohol and is offered in a 75cl bottle. Serve chilled with rich fish dishes, poultry, risotto or mushroom dishes.
