Monte da Raposinha

Monte da Raposinha is a family estate in the north of the Alentejo that aims to make characterful wines with a clear sense of place. Respect for nature, the soil and the ecosystem lies at the heart of its approach. Through organically managed vineyards and meticulous work in both vineyard and cellar, the estate seeks to produce authentic, fresh and elegant wines that express the distinctive terroir around Montargil.

The estate lies approximately 500 metres from the Montargil reservoir, whose cooling influence contributes to a fresher microclimate. The family property covers 150 hectares, including 15 hectares of certified organic vineyard. The name ‘Raposinha’ comes from the affectionate nickname given to owner Rosário Ataíde by her father when she was a child. Day-to-day management and viticulture are now in the hands of the next generation: João Nuno Ataíde and winemaker Paula Bragança Ataíde. The grapes are harvested by hand and vinified separately.
