Vineyard of Vinho da Ordem

Vinho da Ordem is Pedro Jerónimo's family project in Valhelhas. Through microvinification, minimal intervention and old mixed plantings, he aims to preserve the historic wine landscape of Beira Interior. The vineyard has been in conversion to organic farming since 2022.

The vineyard lies at an altitude of approximately 570 metres and contains around sixteen old local grape varieties, including Rufete, Jaen, Fonte Cal and Síria. The producer is based in Valhelhas and operates within Beira Interior (DOP). In this workbook, conversion to organic farming is confirmed. The recorded scope is EU Organic in conversion (process started in 2022). Other products or vintages are not automatically covered.

Vinho da Ordem Branco Curtimenta from Vinho da Ordem is a dry orange wine from Portugal. This is a non-vintage wine made from Síria, Fonte Cal, overige lokale rassen. The bottle contains 75cl. The flavour profile features citrus peel, dried yellow fruit, spices and a light tea note, with noticeable texture from skin contact, fresh acidity and a dry, gastronomic finish. It pairs well with roasted vegetables, spiced dishes, poultry or mature cheese. Serve at an appropriate temperature and, for more complex wines, allow a little air if needed so that the aromas and structure can fully develop.
