Vineyard of Wijnhoeve Elfa

Wijnhoeve Elfa is a young organic vineyard in the Achterhoek’s bocage landscape between Winterswijk and Aalten. Lotte and Jeroen use only fungus-resistant white PIWI varieties suited to the Dutch climate and organic cultivation. Together with volunteers, they are creating a welcoming place and a diverse range. Their aim is to explore the possibilities of sustainable white-wine production, from still wines to experimental styles.

The vineyard was established in 2023 and has 4,600 vines of Souvignier Gris, Hibernal, Calardis Blanc, Donau Veltliner and Donau Riesling. The first grapes were harvested in 2025, and the first wines were presented in May 2026. In addition to still white and semi-sparkling wine, future plans include gris, orange, natural and white port-style wines.
