Vineyard of Winklestone Vineyard

Winklestone Vineyard is a small family estate in Ashdown Forest that places organic farming and minimal intervention at the heart of its approach. Its aim is to produce fresh, pure wines that reflect the local landscape while supporting nature and the village community.

The first harvest took place in 2023. The Bacchus is made entirely from the estate’s own organically grown grapes. Organic grapes from Forty Hall Vineyard are also used for the rosé. The young estate works in small volumes and combines its own fruit with carefully selected organic grapes from other English vineyards when a cuvée requires it.

Organic Bacchus from 2025 from Winklestone Vineyard is a dry still white wine. In aroma and taste, the emphasis is on lime, gooseberry, elderflower and a light grassy spiciness. The wine combines lively acidity with a bright fruit expression and a fresh, usually clean finish. The wine is made from Bacchus; the alcohol content is 11%. Serve chilled as an aperitif or with fish, seafood, fresh salads, goat cheese and light vegetable dishes.
